Patricia Bijvoet

Patricia Bijvoet brings a vast professional experience in urban design, with a specific focus on the public realm. Employed by the City of Amsterdam, and several offices in the Netherlands, Berlin and Los Angeles, she is now the proud co-founder of UPLA Studio, an Urban Planning Landscape Architecture design office in Los Angeles.

Patricia has a firm belief that walkability and bikeability can become a core strength of Los Angeles as it is in many cities in the world. Years of advocacy and volunteering for better bike infrastructure and for healthier, more inclusive and denser cities has connected her with Walk ‘n Rollers. “We need to work on both sides: an attractive lay-out of the city and also the encouragement of active transportation from day one “, says Patricia, who has been living car-free all her adult life.
