SUMMARY:Smart Cycling Class
DESCRIPTION:Smart Cycling Class\nThis comprehensive interactive class is tailored for cyclists interested in improving their riding skills and knowledge and take the first step toward becoming a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) through the League of American Bicyclists. Participants must be able to ride their bike continuously for a minimum of 30 minutes. Ages 18+ only. (NOTE: this is not a Learn to Ride class).  \nWhat to Bring: Please bring a bike in good working order\, helmet (if you have one. If not\, you will receive a new helmet)\, water and snacks. Wear comfortable clothing\, including closed toed shoes\, and sunscreen. \nContent Covered: Presentation/discussion on bike safety including bike selection and fit\, helmet safety\, rules of the road\, emergency maneuvers and best practices for riding with and without bike infrastructure. Plus on-bike skills drills\, and short group ride. There is an optional Smart Cycling Exam for those considering pursuing LCI status through the League of American Bicyclists. \n[OPTIONAL] You may register and complete the lecture component of the class on The League of American Bicyclists website and join this workshop for the on-bike skills course and group ride at 11:00am. \nLocation: Just Ride L.A.; 1626 S Hill St\, Los Angeles\, CA 90015\, United States \nRegistration is free and each participant will receive a free helmet\, lock\, and light set!  \nEach participant must register separately. SUMMARY:Wrench and Ride
DESCRIPTION:Wrench and Ride\nSpend summer learning bike repair\, joining fun rides and earning community service hours!   \n \nAre your teens looking for something fun to do\, while earning community service hours \nWrench & Ride is for them! Beginning June 19 and every Friday through August 7 (exc \nept July 3)\, teens (ages 12+) can join us at our repair site\, learning bike repair skills while repairing bikes to be adopted and then join a fun ride after. \nRepair Workshops: Teens will learn about fixing flats\, cleaning chains\, adjusting brakes and more. They’ll learn about bike parts and tools in a safe and engaging environment\, working alongside Walk ‘n Rollers’ instructors and mechanics. \nFun rides: Explore new communities while learning road safety\, best practices for safe riding and route planning. Helmets\, locks\, lights and other items will be included. \nStudents can participate as they are available – one week or all seven. They can do the repair workshops only or join the rides only\, or do both! They also have the option of earning community service hours for their time. \nWe also offer an Earn-a-Bike program where the students choose a bike to work on and have the option of keeping the bike (minimum four sessions required) \nCost: Free. (Suggested donation of $75 per session is be greatly appreciated) \nREGISTRATION
